Class Information
Missed Classes / Make-Ups / Extra Help - Instructors of The Crafting Bee are dedicated to your success as a student. In that dedication we often answer questions and offer assistance via email, text message & phone at anytime, day or night. In doing such we expect a measure of dedication and interest in the craft in return. If you are a registered student and are unable to attend class, we respectfully request that you notify The Crafting Bee of the pending absence. If you decide not to show and do not cancel in advance, no refunds or make-up will be issued for the missed class(es).
Should an individual meeting be required for a make-up class, it will be considered a private lesson and billed as such. Further, should additional, personal help be required and scheduled and the appointment not kept without notification, you will be billed for the scheduled time at the hourly rate. Our private session studio rate is $40 per hour.
Copyright / Photography - All classes and/or workshops taught by The Crafting Bee are under copyright protection. All handouts acquired during a class/workshop are to be used for your personal reference and not to be copied, shared or distributed in any form. Any photography taken by students may be for personal use only and not for publication in print or on the internet, including social media & forum sites (i.e., you may share photos of what you’re doing but not how you do it). The Crafting Bee reserves the right to take class photos for promotional use insuring that students will not be named without written consent.
Fees - At the time you register, you will be required to pay the class fee in total. Class fees will be refunded in the form of a credit voucher if cancellation is made one week prior to class. We reserve the right to cancel class for lack of enrollment. In that event, your class fees will be refunded in the form of a credit voucher. Please be sure to check with us that the class is, in fact, running before you purchase your class supplies.
No Show Policy - If you have registered for a class and do not notify the studio of you inability to attend, no refunds or credits will be issued, no make-ups offered.
Private and Group Lessons - The Crafting Bee offers private and group lessons for those who are looking for more individual attention as they learn. You can just do a one-time, two hour lesson and work on a simple project, learn the basics or how to use your sewing machine. You can also choose from a multiple session of lessons that last from one to two hours. Materials are not included in the lesson costs.
Individual Lessons - $40 per hour, (2 hour minimum for a one-time lesson)
2-3 Person Group Lessons - $50 per hour (2 hour minimum for a one-time lesson)
Registration - Class size is limited. Spaces fill up quickly & we operate on a “first come first served basis”, so register early! The classes being taught will change weekly so, come back to see what’s on the schedule.
Skill Level – At the end of each class description, you will see a skill level. It is to your advantage not to sign up for a class beyond your capability. While we are here to help you over the rough spots, we have found that taking a class you are not ready for leads to frustration on your part and, many times, an incomplete project. It is our sincere hope that each student leaves the class with a better understanding of the crafting process and a completed project. If you are not sure of your skill level, talk to us and we will advise you.
Beginner – you have little to no experience
Novice – you have some experience, have made a few basic projects
Intermediate – you feel comfortable with most aspects of process, have made several prior projects
Special Events - When you have your special event at The Crafting Bee, the sky’s the limit! YOU get to choose the craft you and your guests will make. Whether you already know which craft you want to make, or you have no idea where to start, we will work with you to come up with the perfect, unique craft project for your party. Our basic party includes one main craft project (a second craft project can be added to your party for $15.00 per person PLUS an extra half hour of time for $50.00. (Note: A second craft project is not recommended for children under 10.)
Studio Time – All class projects are designed to be completed in the allotted time. Should you require additional time to complete your project, and wish to use the studio space, you may do so. Studio time rate is $10 per hour and subject to availability.
